Kaloyan Kukov graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree in psychology at the University of Veliko Tarnovo "St. St. Cyril and Methodius", after which he started working at the Uspenie Bogorodichno State Psychiatric Hospital. He is studying a medical specialty in clinical psychology at Paraskev Stoyanov Medical University - Varna. He defended a dissertation for the educational and scientific degree "doctor" at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" in the field of clinical psychology.

He gained clinical experience at Saint Mary's Hospital in the field of clinical psychology in people with mental disorders, somatic medicine in childhood and adolescence, as well as in people with infectious and neurological diseases. In 2017, he defended the degree of "Doctor of Sciences" in the field of clinical medical psychology at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" on the topic "Neurocognition and HIV". He is currently a lecturer at the Medical University - Sofia in the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology and a clinical psychologist at the "Alexandrovska" Medical Center.
