Human physiology. Textbook for students of dental medicine and students of pharmacy
HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY
The current textbook "Human Physiology" is intended for teaching students of pharmacy and dentistry. The text has been enriched with new data obtained in recent years. The large number of figures facilitates the understanding of physiological processes.
In the main text of the textbook, the basic physiological knowledge that must be mastered by students of pharmacy and dentistry is presented.
The basic modern knowledge of physiology about the mechanisms of functioning of cells, organs, systems and the organism, the regulation of the functions of individual organs and systems, the coordination of the function of different organs, the mechanisms of homeostasis and the mechanisms of adaptation to changes in environmental conditions are presented. .
At the end of each chapter there are questions that guide students to the main sub-topics in which they should have a lasting knowledge. The main part of the used literature is also indicated. The alphabetical index is detailed and tailored to locate key terms and concepts in the text.
When writing the textbook, we were guided by the tradition of the Department of Physiology to conduct profiled training for students of pharmacy and dentistry. For pharmacy students, the presentation of the material is aimed at understanding the physiological basis of the pharmacological influence of various functions in the body.
For students of dental medicine, specific issues such as: regulation of calcium-phosphate exchange, physiological role of saliva, regulation of chewing and swallowing are presented in detail.
For a clearer presentation of the material, the main part of the specific topics are presented in boxes with different fonts:
