Joe Navarro
Joe Navarro (born 1953) is an American author, public speaker, and former agent and head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Navarro specializes in non-verbal communication and body language and is the author of numerous books; including 'What the Body Says', 'Dangerous Persons' and 'Speaker Than Words'.
Joe Navarro moved to the United States at age 8 with his family shortly after the Bay of Pigs invasion in Cuba. After graduating with a BA and MA in International Relations. Joe worked as an FBI special agent and supervisor in counterintelligence and behavioral assessment for 25 years. He is one of the founders of the FBI's elite behavioral analysis program and also serves as SWAT team commander.
After retiring from the FBI, Navarro began writing books and giving lectures to share his knowledge of human behavior. He began lecturing at various universities, including Harvard Business School. Since 2003, Navarro has been a consultant to government departments of various institutions and is a fellow of the Institute for Intergovernmental Studies.
