THE NINTH REVISED AND COMPLETED EDITION
HUMAN ANATOMY SHEPHERD…
A textbook for medical and dental students with 137 figures in the text
38 years have passed since 1980, when the first edition of Topographic Anatomy appeared. At this mature age, the textbook, which presents the relationships of the various structures in the topographic-anatomical areas of the human body, is already established and enjoys the recognition of the entire medical community.
Over the years, improvements and additions to the text and illustrative material have been periodically made. The total circulation of all six editions printed so far and already sold out amounts to more than 28,000 copies. This testifies to the good reception of the textbook not only among Bulgarian doctors, but also among foreign students and doctors studying in our country, who take it with them to their countries.
Netter's Atlas of Anatomy…
The current, seventh edition preserves the character of the book - a systematic examination of the human body by areas and layers with an emphasized and consistently implemented clinical focus. It has been fundamentally revised and supplemented. An introductory chapter, a new thematic unit on facial fascia and spaces, and descriptions of a number of topographic-anatomical areas missing from previous editions have been added.
The main illustrative material consists of 130 original graphic drawings made by Prof. S. Bakardzhieva according to the instructions of the authors. Of them, 8 were reworked in the same style by N. Tomov. 6 new drawings were developed and added from it. With this, the total number of figures becomes 137. The names of the anatomical objects are computerized on the drawings themselves, which modernizes them and facilitates their use.
Gray’s Basic Anatomy, 3rd…
All anatomical terms used in the text and figures have been reviewed, collated and updated with the current international Terminologia Anatomica. The authors express special gratitude to Prof. I. Whitmore, Chairman of the Federated Committee on Anatomical Nomenclature, as well as Prof. L. Vollrath, Chairman and Prof. P. Sprumont, Secretary of the Federated International Program on Anatomical Nomenclature for kindly advising on the internationally accepted boundaries of some areas and the superficial musculo-aponeurotic system.
The textbook is intended for medical and dental students. As experience so far shows, it can also be of significant benefit to doctors, especially during their postgraduate qualification.
The book presents the material in the following order: first the topographical anatomy of the limbs is presented, then the head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis and back. This is dictated by the fact that the most important points in topographical anatomy about the relationships of blood vessels and fascia can be shown most clearly when exposing the topographical anatomy of muscles, fascia and vessels of extremities.
