Where excellent anatomical knowledge is required, but also for all who are interested in studying the human body at the appropriate level. This textbook reflects the way of teaching anatomy, histology and embryology of the Bulgarian anatomical school. It was created more than a hundred years ago, and the new data presented in the latest textbooks of famous European and world authors are also reflected.

The presented textbook on human anatomy is fully consistent with the latest anatomical nomenclature – Terminologia Apatomica – International Anatomical Terminology of the Federative Committee on Anatomical Terminology, Tieme Stuttgart-New York, 1998.

The textbook is intended to facilitate the understanding of complex structural relationships and the relationships between structure and function. It describes some age-related changes in a number of structures and organs, as well as the relationship of anatomy to clinical disciplines.

A number of famous scientists who contributed to the development of human anatomy are noted. In writing the textbook, I have put my experience in teaching human anatomy for 54 years, as well as writing a number of textbooks on this medical specialty.
