MASSAGE - basics, classification, types
The textbook "Massage - basics, classifications, types" is intended for physiotherapy students (kinesitherapist, medical rehabilitator occupational therapist, rehabilitator). It can be used by coaches and physical education teachers.
From the textbook, students will gain knowledge about the history of massage, anatomophysiological data on individual tissues and systems (skin, muscles, joints, circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems), the impact of massage on them, classification of massage (hygienic, sports, healing, cosmetic ), methods of therapeutic massage (classical, reflex, eastern, apparatus).
An updated classification of massage is given. Massage methods and techniques are arranged according to their effect on body tissues and the human body. The meaning of concepts and terms in massage such as: additional and auxiliary; squeezing and squeezing; crumpling and crumpling.
A number of inaccuracies have been removed, such as: the concept of layering is not crushing, but rubbing; the figure eight is stroking regardless of the fact that the massage movements are not along the course of the massage lines. New tricks have been added, such as: pulling a lock of hair, crushing the hairy part of the head, rubbing with the forearms of both hands.
The content of the textbook is aligned with the curricula of physiotherapists in Bulgaria. It meets the requirements of the Ministry of Health for training health professionals to work in the health care system. The textbook was written thanks to the rich Bulgarian, foreign and personal experience. All sincere criticisms and recommendations will be taken into account in the next edition.
