Restoring the crown of depulped teeth using pin constructions is one of the most common interventions in daily practice.
At the present time, some new guidelines have been established in this area, such as the so-called "metal-free" post constructions, where the stump is "anchored" in the root canal using ceramic and most often composite posts.
The purpose of the present work is to provide practicing colleagues with the necessary information about the achievements and opportunities that new materials and technologies for pin construction provide to clinical practice.
