How to talk so that the child listens - and listen to him so that he speaks
What is it really about?
Just by reading this book you have already given a lot of yourself. You had to embrace new ideas and principles, practice new skills, learn new ones, and let go of old patterns of thinking and behavior. When a person has so many new things to learn and has to put so much effort into something, they often lose sight of the big picture. So let's look one last time at what this method of communication is aimed at and what it is dedicated to.
We want to find a way to live with each other so that we feel good with the people we love and help them feel good with us.
We want to find a way to live without accusations and counter-accusations.
We want to find a way to be more sensitive to the feelings of others.
We want to find ways to express our anger and irritation without causing harm.
We want to find a way to respect our children's needs while also respecting our own needs.
We want to find a way to teach our children care and responsibility.
We want to break the vicious circle of fruitless conversations passed down from generation to generation and convey another message to our children: a style of communication that they can use throughout their lives - with their friends, with their colleagues, with their loved ones, and one day and with their own children.
You can now end the war with your children!
For more than twenty years, this book has helped parents around the world to communicate with their children with understanding and respect for their feelings and wishes and to solve the most common problems while maintaining the love and respect of the child.
Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish, who are students and followers of Dr. Chaim Ginott, find innovative and effective approaches to applying the ideas in his revolutionary book "The Child and Us" in everyday life.
