Postcervical method of artificial insemination in pigs
In this monograph, the method of post-cervical insemination of pigs and its application in pig breeding is discussed. In a theoretical aspect, the mechanisms of movement, transport, selection and storage of spermatozoa in the reproductive system of female animals are presented.
Special attention is paid to the features of the sexual cycle in the pig, determination of the optimal moment for artificial insemination and methods of injecting the seminal fluid into the reproductive system.
The monograph includes author's research related to the study of different methods of insemination and the volume/number of spermatozoa in the dose, as well as the influence of individual factors on the reproductive performance of pigs. In conclusion, methodological guidelines for conducting post-cervical insemination of pigs are indicated.
