Presentation of Surgical Diseases
THIRD REVISED AND SUPPLEMENTED EDITION The previous textbooks "Surgical diseases under the editorship of Prof. St. Baev was released in 1994. and 2006 have already been exhausted. In the period since its publication, the surgical curriculum has been amended and updated several times.
The Textbook of Surgical Diseases offered by us is primarily intended for medical students, but it is adapted and can be used by trainee doctors and young doctors - surgeons, as well as doctors from related specialties - obstetricians, gynecologists, urologists, orthopedists -traumatologists, pediatricians, etc.
The volume of the textbook is consistent with the training programs and our desire was to give the students the most essential of surgery - etiology, pathogenesis, clinic, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of surgical diseases, as well as the principles of their treatment. We have a preference and present the textbook in the type – more – extensive and written in a narrative style. Modern diagnostic and operative methods, which have significantly changed modern surgery, have a very wide place in it. A medical student must have and possess a wide range of theoretical and practical skills that he acquires during his studies. They are based on the modern level of surgery, which the student can receive as theoretical training through this textbook. The author's collective has strived to reflect the latest and most current in pathophysiology and surgery in order to clarify the most difficult surgical problems. Through this aspiration, each physician must seek the truths in surgical science established by our classic clinicians. Based on this historical truth, the entire team remains faithful to the traditions of the school of Prof. Parashkev Stoyanov, Prof. Alexander Stanishev, Prof. Yanko Dobrev, which is also evident from the way the material is presented in this textbook.
The current guide is built mainly on the experience of prominent surgeons of ours, leading the most renowned surgical clinics in our country. Due to this fact, prominent specialists in the individual sections with proven pedagogical experience and long teaching experience were attracted to write this textbook.
Regardless of our desire and desire to provide medical students with a solid methodological guide to facilitate their mastery of the surgical discipline, we have no doubt that it has its flaws and we will gratefully accept any criticism to address them. .
