LIFE AND PEDAGOGICAL ACTIVITY OF LIDIA STOYANOVA
The purpose of the present monograph is based on the above-mentioned archival materials and the publications of Lidiya Stoyanova in the magazine "Free Education", to present her still little-known work, primarily related to her work with children with special educational needs and attempts to apply the method of Maria Montessori in working with them. This work is filled with many difficulties, deprivations, refusal of personal life, but it is also inspiring above all with its infinite love for children and belief in the possibilities of every child.
The monograph consists of two parts. The first part, based on already published sources, describes the family environment in which Lidiya Stoyanova grew up and which influenced her development. The second part, entitled "The Path" and based primarily on the archival materials mentioned above, reveals the life path and work of Lidiya Stoyanova.
The goal is to popularize Lidiya Stoyanova's case and make it known not only to a limited circle of people dealing with the problems of children with special educational needs, but also to the general public, as it carries a charge that is especially necessary in a time deprived of orientations and human values. It teaches humanity, kindness, love and devotion to every human being, regardless of his natural endowments.
