This book describes the essence, origin and development of the electrophysiology of vision. The individual electrophysiological techniques and their application in various ophthalmological and ophthalmoneurological diseases are examined in detail. An attempt has been made to present the complex subject of electrophysiology in a more understandable form, so that it becomes accessible and interesting for a wider circle of specialists, because it is indispensable in the diagnosis and monitoring of numerous congenital and acquired diseases.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elena Mermeklieva, MD. is a specialist in ophthalmology. She graduated from the Medical University - Sofia in 1997, in 2002 she already had a recognized specialty in ophthalmology. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mermeklieva has various specializations outside Bulgaria in this field, including in Great Britain, Germany, Spain, USA, Slovenia, Austria, India. He currently works as an ophthalmologist at the Lozenets Hospital in Sofia and as an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".
