Case-based training to optimize obstetric care
The monograph presents a current and little-developed pedagogical method used the training of midwifery students – the method of the Individual Clinical Case (Case Study) and its role in optimizing obstetric health care. The specific didactic feature of midwifery specialists healthcare is that the didactic process takes place not only in university classrooms and laboratories, but also in clinical settings. The necessary cases for practical training do not always exist. This requires modeling of individual clinical cases by the teacher for the training process.
The aim of the monograph is to theoretically substantiate and show the didactic expediency of using the Individual Clinical Case method in the educational environment of the higher school preparing specialists in Health Care.
The following tasks have been set to be solved:
1. To review the theoretical basics of the method Individual case
(Case Study);
2. Development of a methodology for creating individual clinical cases;
3. Development of a methodology for using the Individual Clinical Case method in the practical training of students midwives by highlighting the stages of work;
4. Development of a methodology for assessing practical knowledge and skills using the Individual Clinical Case method;
5. To reveal the correlation "individual clinical case - clinical thinking - organization of health care"„
6. Research on the attitudes of midwifery students and teachers towards working with the Individual Clinical Case method.
