The current textbook "Human Anatomy" reflects the long-term experience of the Department of Anatomy at VMI - Plovdiv,
in teaching normal human morphology. The understanding of this teaching is to relate anatomical knowledge to clinical practice. Presenting the morphology of organs and systems only through a dry anatomical description cannot explain the meaning of the study of matter. Linking descriptive anatomical data with topographical and clinical anatomy increases the interest of medical and dental students in studying the normal morphology of the human body. This textbook is written in this spirit.
Because of these qualities, the Human Anatomy textbook
it can be used by medical and dental students both in their anatomy studies at the beginning of their studies and also later when they enter the clinical disciplines. There, it will be a valuable aid to them in distinguishing between norm and pathology. In this sense, the textbook can be used by doctors and dentists in their daily clinical work.
Illustrative material is from drawings, some of which are taken from established anatomy manuals, such as Gray's Anatomy 37th ed., Textbook of Human Anatomy, ed. WJ Hamilton, 1976, Basic Histology. LC Junqueira et al, 1986, Histology, A. Ham, Dl. Cormack, 1982 et al. The names of the anatomical objects are given in the drawings, which facilitates their use.
Anatomical terminology follows the Paris Anatomical Nomenclature (PNA), 1955 and its most recent updates, and the International Histological and Embryological Nomenclature, 1970 and subsequent updates.
