The suggested guide on echocardiography
with authors Assoc. Dr. K. Vitliyanova, Ph.D., Dr. R. Tasheva, Ph.D. and Assoc. Dr. M. Negreva, Ph.D.,
is written based on the great scientific and practical experience of the authors. The capabilities of echocardiography in the assessment of the cardiac cycle are thoroughly reviewed with a detailed analysis of the systolic and diastolic function, myocardial mechanics and synchrony in heart contraction. On this basis, the echocardiographic characteristics of heart diseases, in which there is a corresponding ultrasound image (congenital and acquired heart defects, cardiomyopathies, inflammatory diseases, aortic diseases, cardiac tumors and masses). Descriptions are bound clinically and hemodynamically, which is a special credit to the management, and the attached figures are convincing.
The manual is very useful now that echocardiography is becoming something of a modern stethoscope for the cardiologist and an integral part of the diagnostic trinity in cardiology: clinical examination, ECG, echocardiography.
I take the liberty of recommending it to cardiologists, internists, resuscitators and inquisitive post-graduate students. With it, they can enrich their knowledge of the heart in the inextricable relationship between morphology and function, which is also the basis of modern cardiology.
