Minimally invasive gynecological surgery
The manual depicts the anatomy of the small pelvis from different angles, comparing the classical with the laparoscopic view. In the general part, the technique of the endoscopic suture is presented, as well as the various energy sources that are essential in surgical procedures. In the special part, the surgical techniques for benign diseases, as well as the new modern procedures used in the treatment of static diseases of the female reproductive system, are examined sequentially. Special attention is also paid to radical minimally invasive robotic surgery in the treatment of endometrial carcinoma and cervical carcinoma. In addition, the use of robot-assisted surgery in preserving fertility in women with cancer, as well as in supraradical surgery in patients with residual tumor (radical parametrectomy), is reviewed.
Complications in minimally invasive surgery are strictly specific and unfortunately sometimes disproportionately severe. They are important for the awareness of possible difficulties and making wrong decisions and are therefore included in a separate chapter. In 2014, HIFU technology was introduced in Bulgaria for the treatment of tumors of the pancreas, kidneys, liver, and also for the treatment of fibroid disease. Resuscitation and anesthesia procedures for patients undergoing minimally invasive surgery are specific and are discussed in a separate chapter.
