About the author
Associate Professor Krasimir Vassilev, Ph.D. graduated from the specialty "Medicine" in Sofia in 1976. In 1982 he acquired the specialty "Surgery", and in 1985 - "Military Field Surgery". He has been a doctor of medicine since 1991.
He has been working at the Academy of Medical Sciences since 1979 - in the clinics of general and emergency surgery, he was the head of the "Emergency Surgery" office and the head of the Department of Biliary-Hepatic Surgery. From 1996 to 2003, he was at the Clinic for Abdominal Surgery of the Academy of Medical Sciences, which deals with surgery of the abdominal organs and laparoscopic surgery.
From 2001 to 2013, he was the head of the Clinic for Endoscopic Surgery focused on the minimally invasive surgical treatment of diseases of the abdominal organs and organs of the endocrine system.
Scientific specialties: General surgery, Military surgery, Organization and tactics of the medical service, Military applied aspects of civil protection. He has numerous scientific works and over 130 scientific publications in Bulgarian and international journals, he has been cited more than 80 times.
