The course in pharmacotherapy should provide systematic theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of clinical medicine and applied pharmacology. The program is built on the concept of diseases as molecular pathogenesis; which is the basis for rational drug treatment and is adapted to the needs of pharmaceutical and medical practice.
The fundamental principles of drug therapy, common symptoms and syndromes are considered; characteristic of the various nosological entities in internal medicine with their pathogenesis, etiological factors and treatment guidelines.
Pharmacists are experts in pharmacotherapy and are responsible for ensuring the safe, appropriate and economical use of medicines. The skills required to work as a pharmacist require knowledge; qualification and experience in biomedical, pharmaceutical and clinical sciences. Pharmacists are responsible for the immediate care of patients and are often part of a multidisciplinary team. Objectives of the course mastering fundamental and practical knowledge about diseases and their treatment; developing skills and knowledge in monitoring therapy and adverse drug effects.
