Prevention and control of postural disorders in childhood - mission possible
In the monograph "Prevention and control of postural disorders in childhood - a mission possible" anatomical, kinesiological and pathokinesiological characteristics of the spine and chest are presented, and the problems and difficulties in combating poor posture and idiopathic scoliosis in childhood are outlined.
The features and main etiological factors affecting the formation of correct posture are examined and the factors leading to various types of postural deformations of the spine and chest are determined. The focus is on the diagnosis and early detection of different types of postural disorders, and the role of screening studies for the prevalence of impaired posture and idiopathic scoliosis worldwide and in Bulgaria in recent years is summarized.
The monograph examines innovative approaches related to the complex treatment and rehabilitation of impaired posture in childhood. An author's methodology is presented kinesitherapy with a large therapeutic ball for children of preschool age, applied in the "Svetlina" kindergarten - Stara Zagora. Original rehabilitation algorithms for the prevention of impaired posture have been promoted, including physical exercises for 3D correction of the deformation from a weight-bearing position and anti-gravity exercises for stimulating postural reflexes in combination with breathing exercises.
The possibilities for the prevention of spinal problems in childhood as the main prerequisite for back pain in adulthood have been analyzed.
Based on the results obtained from the own studies, conclusions are drawn and the prospects for prevention and rehabilitation in this field of scientific research are outlined.
