Psychopathology. Case studies Part Two
Exactly one year ago, the first part of the book was published, in which some historical data, norm and abnormality in psychopathology were examined. Nosology and classification, psychopathological, mental and psychological aspects of affective and schizophrenic disorders. The book aroused particular interest among the great psychiatrists, adherents of classical psychiatry and from the students of psychology (bachelor's and master's). They intend to major in clinical psychology. Those who are familiar with the first part are looking forward to the next two.
In the second part, the emphasis is on neurotic disorders, addictions, sexological problems, forensic psychiatry, disorders in the ED and autism. The psychopathological manifestations of some geniuses have been examined.
Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to Prof. Stamatov, who motivated me to teach psychopathology to psychology students at PU "P. Hilendarski" - Plovdiv.
Some of them were not only inquisitive but markedly intelligent. Their unusual non-standard thinking and their desire to interpret in their own way the psychological problems of their loved ones, of characters from the movies or from the books I read, motivated me to look for answers to many of the questions posed to them in the lectures.
I think we helped each other. They suggested strange and interesting ideas to me, to which I sought an answer to satisfy their curiosity and enrich my knowledge of psychopathology. As a result of this mutual cooperation, some case studies from the student developments are included in this part. Their descriptions are so thoroughly and maturely described and analyzed that I, as their teacher, did not allow myself to change anything.
Diagnostic kit – test…
After my many years of clinical and teaching experience, I can say that psychology and psychiatry are special sciences, and whoever has touched them has never remained indifferent. No one went into psychology/psychiatry by accident.
They go hand in hand and are found everywhere in society - in norm and pathology. Unlike patients in other clinical disciplines, psychiatric case studies are unique. Each case is specific and special for itself from a psychological and psychiatric point of view. The case studies are imprinted in our minds with their authenticity and uniqueness.
When I was the head of the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology at MU - Plovdiv, I sent 400 letters to all psychiatric centers in our country. Unfortunately, few psychiatrists responded to my message. It is a pity that they will take with them the unique and untold cases.
I think it would be unfair not to describe the stories of these patients, not only because they are more real than the characters of the greatest novelists and short stories, but also because they would help specialists to orient themselves more easily and quickly to the right diagnosis and apply adequate drug and psychotherapeutic therapy.
In the third part, you will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with more than 100 rarely encountered symptoms and syndromes, as well as the various psychotherapeutic and pharmacotherapeutic methods. A special place is devoted to hypnotherapy in psychiatric and psychological practice, to homeopathy and herbal medicine.
