The manual "Special Obstetric Care in Normal Pregnancy" provides information on the health care provided and the monitoring of a woman with a normal pregnancy. It is designed to facilitate the theoretical preparation and practical training of midwifery and nursing students. Its structuring is in accordance with the curricula of the majors studied.
Emphasis is placed on key activities in the work of the midwife and the nurse in the observation of a pregnant woman with a normal pregnancy in a Women's Consultation or a pre-hospital care office.
Included are topics such as: prenatal obstetric care; organization of work in Women's Counseling; basic components in monitoring a normal pregnancy; specialized studies and consultations in the Women's Consultation, requiring the additional qualification; obstetric ultrasound; screening of chromosomal abnormalities, medico-genetic counseling; clinical laboratory tests; anatomical and physiological features of the fetus - development by months; physiological changes in a woman's body during pregnancy; diet and pregnancy; physical activity and pregnancy; harmful habits and pregnancy and others.
