Specific articulation disorders during childhood
Dr. Ekaterina Todorova is a senior assistant at New Bulgarian University. Since 1995, he has a master's degree in speech therapy, since 2005 - a doctorate in psychology. She worked for many years as a speech therapist at the Speech Therapy Center - Sofia, and is currently a teacher in bachelor's and master's programs at the New Bulgarian University.
The book is the result of many years of clinical, theoretical and teaching work of the author in the field of speech and language pathology. The models for the interpretation of the specific violations in the phonetics of the Bulgarian language are systematized and the interaction of non-normative speech behavior with other areas of functioning - emotional, behavioral and social - is specified. A proprietary epidemiological study is presented that establishes the social significance and prevalence of articulation disorders, as well as supports the optimization of assessment and characterization of atypical articulation behavior in order to improve the effectiveness of specialized interventions and services offered to these children.
The book is intended for speech therapists, but it also provides useful information for specialists from other scientific fields who are interested in aspects of speech-language behavior in childhood. It can also serve as a study aid for students from bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs, which are related to the disorders of articulation, phonetics and phonology of the Bulgarian language.
