Topographic anatomy, Vl. Ovcharov
THIRD EDITION
PREFACE
The textbook on topographical anatomy is intended for the preparation of students of medicine and dentistry, for the exam in anatomy and histology in the Medical Universities in Bulgaria. Knowledge of systemic anatomy is a necessary condition for studying topographical anatomy. During the study of the latter, fewer spatial representations are required, while in the study of topographical anatomy, spatial representations play an essential role. These spatial representations are developed by careful study of the preparations in the dissection rooms and by observing the many figures in the textbook and in systemic anatomy textbooks. Knowledge of topographic anatomy is essential for clinical training. In the clinic, some details of topographical anatomy are sometimes essential.
The proposed textbook can and should be used by specialists in a number of medical and dental specialties. Topographical anatomy will be a useful guide to them. A number of clinical symptoms are also reflected in the textbook, syndromes and diseases that must be mastered by learners, as this part of anatomy is an important prerequisite for clinical disciplines - both surgically oriented and in reading structures in imaging. In the third edition of the Topographical Anatomy textbook, the different anatomical structures are presented, with their position and the relationships between the corresponding topographical areas of the human body, according to the latest anatomical nomenclature.
The authors will be grateful for readers' advice and recommendations so that the quality of the textbook can be improved even further.
