Anatomical educational Latin-Bulgarian dictionary
Addressee of "Anatomical educational Latin-Bulgarian dictionary” are the students of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, biology, the students in the various specialties in the medical colleges, the teachers and the translators in need of a correct translation of the anatomical terminology.
The macrostructure of the anatomical study dictionary includes three main components:
• Basic and peripheral substantive and adjectival lexicon, supplemented with the participles, degrees of comparison and numerical ordinal names used in the anatomical terminology system;
• Basic phrases.
Theoretically, the types of word combinations (attributive, substantive and attributive-substantive) are examined and the techniques for mastering them are indicated;
• Word-forming nests. In the microstructural zone of the anatomical educational vocabulary are presented:
• Metaphorical and metonymic transitions of nouns and adjectives;
• The passage of words from everyday speech into anatomical terminology;
• Verbal nouns;
• Diminutive nouns.
A system of exercises has been constructed for the vocabulary areas with the aim of consolidating terminological competence.
Creating a lexicographic product which presents an anatomical terminological system for the purposes of medical education in Bulgaria in a contemporary manner is a serious linguistic and methodological challenge in view of the growing interest in studying specialized terms in various scientific areas.
The Anatomical Latin-Bulgarian Dictionary is intended for university students of medicine, dental medicine, pharmacy, biology and college students, lecturers and specialists who need a reference book in translating anatomical nomenclature. In this sense the dictionary serves as a multifunctional guidebook, which combines theoretical principles and practical exercises.
If the terminological inventory of human anatomy is a well-known fact, the linguo-didactic lexicographic presentation is a challenge with an unquenchable charge. The relevance of the first in Bulgaria anatomical study dictionary acquires even greater significance from the lack of similar studies and from the application in the field of education Latin language of lexicographic modeling. This is a perspective and modern approach for a new type of organization and structuring of the study content in anatomy for Bulgarian students.
In her "Anatomical educational Latin-Bulgarian dictionary", Dr. Irena Stankova has carried out a precise analysis from the point of view of methodological expediency and has structured a lexicographic model for presenting the Latin terminological anatomical system for the purposes of medical education in Bulgaria. The concept of the dictionary reflects the development and application in educational practice of the linguodidactic lexicographic modeling of professional language competence with the aim of actively mastering specialized terminology. The use of the study dictionary optimizes the process of learning the anatomical terminology by means of the lexicographically coded algorithms for using the dictionary and enables an independent choice of strategies for mastering terminological fragments according to the needs of the specific user. There is a modern linguistic and didactic bilingual compendium of the anatomical vocabulary with a wide field of application in the Bulgarian educational space.
