Forensic aspects of cold injury
Professional negligence in medicine….
Thermal trauma associated with the release (loss) of heat from the human body is called cold trauma. Depending on the nature of the impact of cold on the body, cold trauma is divided into local and general.
Forensic aspects of cold trauma - Frostbite (congelatio) is the result of a local (local) damaging effect of cold, most often associated with a prolonged decrease in the temperature of the tissues of peripheral and distal, exposed areas of the body in preserved T.
In peacetime, it is a relatively rare traumatic injury, which can exceptionally lead to death through complications, and can independently be the subject of forensic medical expertise in cases of damage to health and causing bodily harm.
The topicality of the topic stems from:
- The unsolved problems of CME of death from hypothermia;
- Deficit of educational and specialized BEL about cold trauma.
Forensic aspects of cold trauma - The present work is a response to the stated problems. The data from the available literature were analyzed. Our own study of the forensic aspects of OCT and death from HT was conducted in our country. Opportunities are identified and solutions are proposed for the optimization of SME. The material is presented methodically and in the necessary completeness.
The book is primarily aimed at forensic doctors, but it can be used and would be useful for doctors from other specialties, medical students, investigative bodies, the court, inquisitive readers.
