The topic of autism spectrum disorders has gained a lot of popularity in recent years. Due to the still unclear etiology, there is interest in the diagnosis on the part of various specialists: psychiatrists; neurologists, pediatricians, geneticists, microbiologists, etc. But it's not just medical professionals who have a research interest in the disorder.
Psychologists are concerned with the introduction of tests and methods to assess functioning; in order to better understand it and apply the most appropriate therapeutic methods to stimulate mental development and functioning.
