The current textbook of physiology of the human organism
is intended for students in the specialty "Nurse" and "Midwife". The need to write such a textbook arose after the study of human physiology was greatly expanded in connection with the acquisition of a "Bachelor" degree for graduates of the "Nurse" and "Midwife" specialty. Professional care for a sick person is impossible without knowledge of the normal functioning of the human body and the specific changes that occur in it with each disease. Caring for the pregnant woman and the woman in labor requires a thorough knowledge of all the changes that occur in the female body during pregnancy and after childbirth. Therefore, this textbook presents modern knowledge of how individual cells, tissues, organs and systems function in the human organism, as well as the mechanisms of their regulation and adaptation to changes in living conditions, including during pregnancy. The material is richly illustrated with illustrations and diagrams, which I hope will assist students in understanding and making sense of it.
All sections of the textbook are built according to a general plan. At the beginning, the specific functions of each system in the organism are considered, after which its organization is briefly presented, so that the functions can be related to their morphological substrate. The following is a more detailed description of the main physiological processes that are responsible for the functioning of the given system, as well as the mechanisms of their regulation. Finally, some of the main changes that occur in the body during diseases that disrupt the functions of the given system are presented. This will help students understand the close relationship of physiology with clinical practice.
